More Than Breakfast

At first glance, it’s easy to see a room full of breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and team members catching up.

But for us, our Monthly Service Breakfast is so much more than a meal.

For years, this tradition has brought our Service team together with a purpose. It creates dedicated time to step away from the day’s demands, connect as one team, share knowledge, celebrate successes, and prepare for what’s ahead. In an industry where many of our team members spend their days in the field serving clients, these mornings provide something that’s often hard to find during a busy workweek: the opportunity to learn from one another face to face.

As we head into the busiest months of the year, these meetings become even more valuable.

They give our technicians, project managers, dispatchers, supervisors, and support staff the opportunity to discuss upcoming work, review important safety topics, communicate operational updates, and ensure everyone is aligned before the busy season ramps up. When communication improves internally, the experience improves for our clients as well.

These breakfasts also create space for something equally important: relationships.

The person you sit beside during breakfast may be the one helping solve a challenge in the field tomorrow. Taking the time to connect outside of a jobsite builds trust, strengthens teamwork, and reminds us that we’re all working toward the same goal. When our team members know one another beyond a name or a phone call, collaboration becomes stronger, challenges are solved faster, and successes are shared across the entire team.

Some of the best ideas don’t come from a conference room. They come from conversations over breakfast. A technician shares a lesson learned from the field. A newer team member asks a question that sparks a fresh perspective. Someone celebrates a recent success that motivates the entire room. Those moments may seem small, but over time they shape who we are as an organization.

Investing in our people isn’t always about formal training or certifications. Sometimes it’s simply creating opportunities for team members to gather, listen, ask questions, and learn from one another. Those conversations strengthen our culture, build confidence, and help every individual continue growing both personally and professionally.

Most importantly, these breakfasts remind us that no one succeeds alone.

Every service call, every project completed, and every client relationship depends on people working together. The stronger our team becomes, the stronger the experience we deliver to every client who trusts us with their facilities.

Our latest Monthly Service Breakfast was another great success as the team connected, discussed upcoming projects, and prepared for the busy warmer weather season ahead. We appreciate every team member who takes the time to participate because these mornings continue to prove that when we invest in our people, we strengthen our organization, improve the service we provide, and build relationships that make us better together.

It’s more than breakfast.

It’s one of the many ways we continue building a stronger team, a stronger culture, and a stronger future.

WPAFB Sensors Lab

Wright-Patt Air Force Base sought contractors to renovate and add onto the Sensors Lab. The HVAC portion of the project was over $13 million.

  • MSD served as the Design Assist Contractor in conjunction with Heapy Engineering for this project. In collaborating with General Contractor, Butt Construction, MSD provided Design Assist solutions for the following:
    • A large, anechoic chamber
    • An outdoor range
    • Multiple, Class-100 clean rooms
    • A three-story office building addition with DCID 6-9 requirements on many of the rooms

WPAFB Chilled Water System

The chilled water system at a high-security building on the Air Force Base was undersized and unable to keep up with demand. The facility could not operate without chilled water due to the amount of information servers in the building, and the general nature of the building itself. The entire upgrade project would need to be completed with minimal shut down time at the building. HVAC portion of this project was over $3 million.

  • MSD worked in collaboration with Diaz Construction to complete the system upgrades on time and on budget with minimal shutdowns or disruption to the facility operations.

LJB, Inc.

LJB, Inc. was renovating their Miamisburg, OH office and wanted to incorporate energy-saving upgrades.

  • MSD provided Design Build services in tandem with Greensleeves Energy Solutions, a specialist in geothermal systems.
  • MSD and Greensleeves installed a new geothermal HVAC system with open and closed loops. In addition, MSD design and installed the plumbing portion of the renovation.
