At MSD, Inc., we believe strong leadership is one of the most important investments a company can make. Recently, our managers gathered for an all-day leadership session with Steve Thomas, marking their second session with him this year as part of our continued commitment to leadership development and team growth.
Throughout the day, the team explored what it truly means to be an intentional leader and challenged themselves to rethink topics surrounding leadership, communication, teamwork, and people.
Growing as Leaders Together
One of the highlights of the session included discussions surrounding personality, communication, and reaction styles through tools like the Color Chart and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). These conversations encouraged deeper self-awareness and helped the team better understand how different personalities communicate, react, and collaborate in the workplace.
The group also explored concepts like the Johari Method, awareness, regard, applying grace, and what Steve often refers to as “human weirdness.” While we cannot give away all of Steve’s expertise, the conversations pushed our team to think differently about leadership, relationships, and how we support one another.

Both ideas served as powerful reminders about empathy, perspective, and the importance of building people up.
