How do we blend creativity and functionality to create remarkable spaces for our clients? Our main focus from an engineering perspective is to design systems that are function and perform to meet the clients needs. The creativity comes into play when there is a strict budget we are trying to meet which forces us to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions that are cost effective but still meet the end goal for the client. We also get to use our creative skills when there is a particular space where a traditional HVAC system simply won’t work, whether it is space constraints, air velocity requirements, noise restrictions, or other limitations. We are tasked with finding a unique solution for that particular situation that sometimes requires us to create a hybrid of multiple systems. – Sara Sowers, PE
